In March, we traveled to LU 524 Training Center in Scranton for the 2023 PA Pipes Trade Apprentice Contest. Training Coordinator Don Eldridge and full-time instructor Nate Beck took a team of some of our best apprentices to the competition.
UA Local 520 Training Center was represented by:

Tom Murphy & Danny Crowe proctored and judged the weld contest. Retired 520 Coordinator Gary Shimmel proctored and judged the copper projects. We are so proud of the students that represented our training center.
We are so excited to announce that 520 welder Collin Loboda finished in first place and will be competing at the district contest in Pittsburgh in June!
All of our apprentices performed incredibly well and we’re so proud of them all.
